Chevrolet Performance has signed a multi-year contract to become the title sponsor of the NHRA US Nationals, the company revealed today.
This means that starting this year, the largest and most prestigious event on NHRA’s Yello Drag Racing Series schedule, the US Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, will bear the Chevrolet Performance name.
“The heart and soul of Chevrolet Performance is on display in the staging lanes at the US Nationals, making this partnership with one of the most historic races in NHRA Drag Racing all the more important,” said Jim Campbell, General Motors US vice president of Performance Vehicles and Motorsports. “Our engineers are continually developing new engines and engine components for sportsman and professional racers; and events like the US Nationals are their proving ground.”
The announcement comes as no surprise given Chevrolet Performance’s involvement in the NHRA with their limited-run COPO Camaro and dragster rolling chassis provided for the same musclecar.
