As we previously noted, there’s something about Australia and big muscle. Drag races, burnouts and just about anything related, but with Holden-badged cars. One thing’s for sure, the Aussie drag scene is just about as interesting as the one in the United States.
And it makes a lot of sense when videos such us the one posted below show up on the Internet. Our recent find, via our friends over at DragZine, proves, once again, that GM’s Australian subsidiary knew how to make musclecars and that Aussies still know how to make them even more powerful.

In fact, powerful is an understatement. This blown Holden Torana is actually frightening with that 555 cubic inch (9.0-liter) V8 engine under the hood. No wonder it was able to run a 7.7-second quarter mile at 148 miles per hour (238 km/h). Just scroll below to see for yourself, but be careful with the volume, this Torana is one loud mouth of a dragster!
