With Chevrolet constantly refining it over the years, the Corvette has come a long way from its relatively humble beginnings. The latest generation is a true budget-friendly supercar with a rear mid-engine layout in a premiere, and the lineup is bound to get more exciting soon.
We are talking about the upcoming ZR1 that will sit at the top of the C8 Corvette family in terms of performance and pricing. It is expected to rock a 5.5L twin-turbo V8 with more than 800 horsepower when it launches in the coming months, likely boasting neck-snapping performance that will make enthusiasts forget about the Stingray, Z06, and E-Ray.

However, not every Chevrolet Corvette enthusiast is a fan of the C8. Some would rather have an older generation with absolutely no modifications. Others are still suckers for classic 'Vettes with modern firepower and peripherals, and a small number of the model's fans think full restomod is the right way to go. If you think a bone-stock old ‘Vette is the one to get, then stick around, as this story is for you.

It revolves around a 1979 Chevrolet Corvette. This third-generation copy has a silver exterior, rides on classic wheels wrapped in Goodyear rubber with white branding, and features a black interior. It is a T-top, too, so it can give you tanlines on the go should you remove the panels. Save for a modern stereo system, which is anything but high-end, it appears to be bone-stock, and it is also a nicely-maintained proposal.

Under the hood lies the original V8 firepower. The 350 ci (5.7L) mill came in various states of tune over the years, with the third-gen 'Vette being made from 1968 to 1982, and in this instance, it is said to pump out 195 horsepower. It is paired with an automatic transmission, and even though the output is nothing to write home about anymore, it is still an exciting car. And if you forgot, the C3 was the ride of choice for Apollo 11's astronauts.

According to the vendor, it has been owned by the same person since 2002, and the odometer read 64,190 miles (103,304 km) at the time of cataloging. It has a well-documented history and deserves a caring owner to cherish it for years to come.

If you fit the bill, then you will have to access this link to get to the ad. Don't do that yet, as we still have to talk about the asking price. This 'Vette will set you back $24,900, which is less than you'd have to pay for a brand-new Chevrolet Malibu, with the mid-size sedan starting at $25,100 plus destination. So, does it have what it takes to make it yours?
