Jeep is disclosing yet another detail about the upcoming Jeep Wagoneer S EV, and it is the most important of them so far. The electric SUV comes with a supercar acceleration.
The Wagoneer S will be Jeep's first electric vehicle to be sold on the US market. The brand has just released a short teaser video accompanied by important info on performance. The model will come with 600 horsepower and will be capable of running from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 kph) in around 3.5 seconds.

"Coming fast. Really fast" is the caption that accompanies the short video teaser uploaded by the company on its YouTube channel, highlighting that it is, indeed, a vehicle with an athletic DNA and performance close to that of the supercars. The video tags the model as "breathtaking." We also get to see a glimpse of the multi-spoke wheels

The model will most likely feature a dual-motor powertrain in an all-wheel drive setup that Jeep names 4xe, offered as a standard feature. The Jeep all-terrain management system is also part of the plan.

The battery size and range are still top secret. Jeep will most likely reveal the information closer to the launch date. What we do know, though, is that the carmaker worked hard on aerodynamics, which will definitely have an impact on the range.

The teaser shows the front fascia of the upcoming Jeep with a backlit faux grille sporting the seven vertical slats. There is an LED strip above it playing the part of the headlights. Two blade-like side inlets show up on either side of the bumper. The rear end probably mimics the front layout in terms of lights, as the LED strip at the rear has become the norm in the industry.

What we see in the teaser video is an indication that the Wagoneer S EV will very much resemble the ICE-powered variant that Jeep unveiled back in 2022.

Jeep will unveil the electric Wagoneer S in the fall of 2024, and it will be sold exclusively as an EV. The model should enter production toward the end of the year, and deliveries should commence in the first quarter of 2025. The S-badged Wagoneer will also be available in key markets around the world at a later date.

Jeep is working on one more electric model. That will be the smaller Recon, which is also expected to enter production toward the end of 2024. The first Jeep-branded series production EV is the Avenger, but that has been a Europe-only affair since 2022.

The EVs are part of Jeep’s transformation plan. The brand is chasing after a Zero Emission lineup in compliance with Stellantis’ Dare Forward 2030 long-term strategic plan. That translates into an entirely electric lineup in six years’ time.
