The first half of 2013 was more than profitable for BMW, especially in China. The total sales of the luxury brand in the communist country reached 34,481 units in June, 44 percent more than in the same period of 2012.
The sales were extraordinary and are mostly due to the introduction of the long wheelbase 3 Series that wasn't available in the same month of last year. Year-to-date, the growth reached 15%, sales adding up to 182,200 units for the entire group.

As for MINI, the British company managed to grow by 6 percent, being accountable for 12,070 of the total units sold by the German group in China in the first six months of the year.

The prospects look even better, as the 3 Series GT will definitely be a success on the Chinese market alongside the refreshed 5 Series GT and the Paceman, cars that have yet to prove their worth on the biggest market in the world.
