No big motor show with a global reputation is complete without a slew of BMW concepts and production vehicles being unveiled. The Bavarians are dominating the premium car market with their cars, and for this year’s North American International Auto Show, they’ve announced four debuts.
First, there’s the hotly anticipated 4-Series Coupe. To be shown as a concept, this replacement for the 3-Series coupe is wider, longer and better looking than its predecessor. It is clearly differentiated from the 3-Series range through new headlight and grille design and should enter full production later in the year.

Next up, the brand new M6 Gran Coupe will make its debut in Detroit, the biggest M model to date. It features a big carbon fiber roof and will be priced between the M6 Coupe and Cabriolet. Despite having two more doors than the regular M6, it’s just as fast to 62 km/h. Power is delivered from the same V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology developing 412 kW/560 hp and peak torque of 680 Newton metres (502 lb-ft).

The Z4 Roadster has been cosmetically enhanced recently and gets a bit more economical with the addition of the Z4 sDrive18i variant, which is powered by a 2-liter TwinPower 156 hp engine. Lastly, there’s the new Limited Edition Lifestyle equipment package for the BMW 1-Series Coupe and BMW 1-Series Convertible, which we’ve also covered in detail in a previous story.

autoevolution will be attending the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
