Discovering a classic car hidden in a barn is quite exciting, but it gets even better when someone stumbles into a big stash of vintage muscle cars. Especially when the said collection includes all NASCAR "aero warriors" and a 1970 Plymouth HEMI 'Cuda, one of the most desirable Mopars from the golden era.
Although many claim that the golden days of barn finds are already behind us, many collections remain hidden from the public eye. The one you're about to see below, courtesy of YouTube's "Crossthread Garage & Salvage," is one of them. And it's definitely among the most spectacular documented in recent years.

The owner, Jerry, is a big fan of race cars, so it's not exactly surprising that he put together a mini collection of NASCAR aero rigs. And I'm not just talking about the iconic Mopars with the big wings and the sharp noses. Nope, this stash extends beyond the 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona and the 1970 Plymouth Superbird.

Jerry also has a 1969 Dodge Charger 500, the predecessor to the more famous and successful Daytona. One of only 500 units built, this Charger 500 was part of the company's first attempt to create a more aerodynamic vehicle for NASCAR. But the flush rear window and front grille didn't help the Charger beat the Ford Torino Talladega on the high-speed oval tracks, so Dodge went ahead and designed the radical Daytona.

Speaking of FoMoCo cars, the collection also includes a 1969 Torino Talladega, complete with the 428 Super Cobra Jet engine under the hood. Jerry also owns the Talladega's Mercury-badged counterpart, the 1969 Cyclone Spoiler II. Both rigs are dusty and need TLC, but they're among the rarest muscle cars from the era. While Ford sold only 754 Talladegas, Mercury delivered 500 units (although rumors suggest a significantly smaller number).

NASCAR aero cars aside, the warehouse is also home to a 1970 Plymouth HEMI 'Cuda. It's a car that requires no further introduction, but it's worth mentioning that less than 1.5% of the Barracudas built that year got the mighty 426-cubic-inch (7.0-liter) HEMI V8 under the hood. More specifically, Plymouth sold only 666 units.

But this 'Cuda is rarer than that because it's a hardtop car with an automatic gearbox. These features make it one of 368 built. Moreover, the Mopar is loaded with options, including a couple of rare ones, including the color-keyed A22 elastomeric bumpers and the C26 overhead console. According to our host, this HEMI 'Cuda may be a genuine one-of-one gem. Additionally, it's been with the same owner for 51 years and shows only 20,000 miles (32,187 km) on the odometer.

Finally, if you're into late 1970s high-performance cars, the collection includes a pristine 1978 Dodge Aspen Kit Car. This NASCAR-inspired production model dedicated to Richard Petty was built in just 145 units. This one has only seven miles (11 km) on the odo. Check them all out in the video below.
