No sense in owning what could be one of the most recognizable celebrity cars out there and not showing it off whichever chance you get, right? Bad Bunny knows that, so he's turning his insane off-road vintage Rolls-Royce into a true video vixen.
These past few years, Puerto Rican rapper, singer, actor, entrepreneur, and occasional wrestler Bad Bunny has emerged as one of the biggest concert draws in the world, as well as a fixture in all the relevant charts. Bad Bunny is also somewhat of a budding fashion icon and a trendsetter, and a car collector with very particular tastes.
So, when he reached out to Wires Only earlier this year, asking for a special build for his new video, they really had no idea just how special it would be. Or how challenging, since he wanted a vintage Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow turned into an off-road machine in just three days, and it had to be fully functional.
The conversion was completed in due time by RD from Wires Only and Chad Utt in the Wires Only shop, with assistance from RBP Tire. It would appear as scheduled in the video for Where She Goes, where it got a lot of screentime as Bad Bunny drove it through the desert on his quest to find his lady love.
Today, this very unlikely vintage Rolls is back in the spotlight – and it's thanks to yet another music video. Bad Bunny dropped the video for Un Preview, which continues the narrative from Where She Goes but shows the Rolls only as a stationary object. Still, it's a gorgeous car to look at, and look at it we shall.
The challenge with the project was turning a classic car like a Silver Shadow into a widebody off-road beast and doing so while honoring its heritage and beauty. The finished vehicle features a 3-inch lift and fully custom fender flares, wide running boards, and massive RBP Repulsor M/T RX in 31 × 10.50R15LT tires.
The top of the original chassis was cut off so that the car became a cabriolet, with a roll-cage inserted on considerations of safety and aesthetics. Off-road lights initially came with a yellow smiley face, but they were switched for regular lights by the time it was ready for its first brush with international fame in the Where She Goes video.
It doesn't look like any other mods were deemed necessary from May, when the first video was shot, to September, when Un Preview dropped.
Even the iconic Spirit of Ecstasy found on all Rolls-Royces got a makeover, being now fitted with a mask and red eyes. One of the female dancers in Un Preview is sporting a similar-style mask.
From the fact that he's already featured this custom Rolls in two different music videos, it's clear that Bad Bunny liked it enough to include it in his ever-growing fleet. The rapper is also the owner of one of the 20 units of the Bugatti Chiron Sport 110 Ans produced, a BMW M4, a Mercedes G-Wagen, a Rolls-Royce Dawn, and a used 2003 Toyota Corolla he only drives when he's trying to travel incognito.
