Audi of America announced the updates and pricing for the 2024 models, which are now offered with updated standard equipment and features. Most 2024 models now come standard with adaptive cruise control, remote engine start, and the new Audi App Store.
It's that time of the year when Audi announces its refreshed lineup for the new model year, and it doesn't disappoint. Although the Volkswagen Group is not doing very well, Audi sales are booming, and the carmaker wants to thank its customers by offering more equipment and features. Besides adding more standard equipment across its lineup, Audi is expanding its EV offering. Audi launched the Q8 e-tron/Q8 Sportback e-tron earlier this year, and the performance-oriented S and RS models continue to build the brand's electric portfolio.
For the 2024 model year, all Audi SUV models feature adaptive cruise control or adaptive cruise assist as standard equipment. The optional traffic sign recognition technology can be ordered on more vehicle trims. Nearly the entire Audi lineup now benefits from the remote engine start capability offered free of charge via the Audi connect app.
Audi also announced a new integrated application store for select models with the third-generation modular infotainment toolkit (MIB 3). The new app store, offered this summer, will allow owners to download apps directly to the Multimedia Interface (MMI). At launch, Audi will provide apps from popular categories such as Music, Video, Gaming, Navigation, Parking & Charging, Productivity, Weather, and News. The ecosystem will support proprietary apps and third-party services such as Spotify, TikTok, Yelp, Webex, and The Weather Channel.
This summer, the new app store will be available on most Audi A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, Q5, Q8, and e-tron GT models. An active Audi connect Plus subscription is required to access the app store and use the apps once installed. Audi promises that the app store functionality will be expanded to additional models in the future. Sadly, the Q4 e-tron and Q4 Sportback e-tron are not among the supported models, showing the limitations of the aging MEB platform.
The entry models to Audi's EV portfolio received Adaptive Cruise Control with lane guidance and a steering wheel with paddles to select different regeneration levels as standard equipment. HomeLink functionality incorporated into the rearview mirror is offered either standard or with the optional Convenience package, depending on the power level and trim.
The Q8 e-tron family has seen a lot of attention, with increased driving range, higher power, and faster charging capabilities. The flagship EVs deliver quicker acceleration, and driving dynamics have been improved by redesigning the steering hardware and the suspension software. Audi also claims that improved battery chemistry and packaging have increased the battery-pack capacity to 114 kWh. In the charging department, 2024 Q8 e-tron includes two years of DC fast charging at no additional cost via the Electrify America network and Plug & Charge capability.
