We're pretty sure that when Chevrolet gave birth to the C/K series of trucks in 1959, it had no idea how valued one member of the family would become decades later. We’re talking about the half-ton C10, one of the custom industry’s favorite canvases for insane projects.
Because of its current status, the C10 is of course a regular of our Chevrolet Month coverage – you’ve already seen many of them since the beginning of the month, and you’ll see more still by the time November ends.

One of today’s stars of the C10 parade is this one, a 1962 model coming from the very first generation. Like all the others, this one too is for sale, for the princely sum of $75,000.

For that people get one of the coolest pickups of its kind. The work on it was conducted by a Florida shop called Armageddon and a bunch of others, and involved both visual and performance upgrades.

First, the things we can see. The low-riding pickup propped on 20-inch wheels is wrapped in a paint job handled by another Florida specialist, ChromeFish Customs. We’re told that depending on a number of factors, the truck “changes color, sometimes it’s blue, sometimes it’s purple.” You know, kind of like that dress from several years ago (as a side note, we see the truck as being blue).

The interior - handled by White Oak Custom - is not as chameleonic, but corners were not cut here either. The same hue used for the exterior extends on the dashboard and doors, and is complemented by black and grey. The truck has all the modern technologies now used for custom builds, including Intellitronix gauges, Vintage Air, head unit running Android, a JBL audio system, and even cup holders.

The real magic though happens under the hood. The C10 hides there a 5.3-liter V8, tuned into developing 500 hp. It breathes through a Magnaflow exhaust and delivers its ponies by means of an automatic transmission.
