The Land Rover Defender Trophy Edition is based on the Defender 130 P400 SE version. The special edition comes in matte Santorini Black, featuring a special Trophy Edition wrap, which instantly highlights the fact that this one here is one special breed. The wrap brings along a golden topographical map design on the doors and spare tire cover.

The model also gets the special edition Defender Trophy Badging and is equipped with an expedition roof rack with a deployable ladder. A Pelican roof box, a winch, and a front skid plate are also part of the package. To confirm the vehicle is off-road ready, Land Rover mounted mud flaps, wheel arch protection, a tow hitch receiver, and recovery points.

An Off-Road Pack brings all-terrain tires, an electronic active differential, and black roof rails. Meanwhile, the Advanced Off-Road Capability Pack adds All-Terrain Progress Control, Terrain Response 2, as well as Configurable Terrain Response.

There is also a Cold Climate Pack, which, as the name suggests, comes in handy when the Defender travels in areas with low temperatures. The package includes a heated windshield, but also heated windshield washers and headlights washers.

There are seats in Ebony Grained Leather on board the Land Rover Defender Trophy Edition, as well as the special edition badging. Meanwhile, the luggage compartment features rubber mats for extra practicality.

With or without the special treatment, the Defender 130 P400 SE comes with the turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with mild hybrid technology, plus an electric supercharger for a total output of 395 horsepower (400 PS) and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque. This version accelerates from 0 to 60 mph (0-97 kph) in 6.3 seconds on its way to a top of 119 mph (192 kph).

The future owners are invited to take part in the Defender Trophy Competition, in Austin, Texas, from October 29 through November 8. The overall wining team will go on a four-day Adventure Travel experience in Namibia.

Only 220 units will be built for the United States, each starting at $103,000, plus the $1,475 destination charge, and available starting this August. Ten more units will be specifically manufactured for Canada.

It is not the first time the Trophy Edition has come to America. Last year, for instance, the special edition was based on the Defender 90 P400 X-Dynamic SE with the same figures as this year: 395 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. But last year, there were 250 lucky customers in the United States and Canada who could get their hands on a special edition Defender.
