Out there in the real world, the situation is settled for the eternal Mustang vs Camaro vs Mopar beef. However, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators has other plans with the dearly departed.
Since December last year, General Motors has stopped producing the Chevrolet Camaro coupe and Convertible, and Stellantis ceased manufacturing the mighty Dodge Challenger coupe and Charger sedan. The fate of the L-bodied cars is sealed – the Challenger got the retirement papers with no successor in sight. At the same time, the Charger morphed back to the traditional state of a two-door fastback coupe and is preparing for a novel ICE and EV lifestyle on the new STLA Large platform.

Meanwhile, the Chevrolet Camaro's fate remains in limbo after the company announced several special series (Collector's Edition and Garage 56 ZL1) and said this is not the end of the road for the iconic nameplate. However, the new pathway is also nowhere to be seen at the moment due to the recent EV slowdown; the model might not return packing batteries too soon. Well, maybe the company will backtrack on the decision – especially seeing that the special editions are so successful.

No worries, in the parallel universes of vehicular CGI, the deed is already done – at least from the point of view of a virtual automotive designer better known as a.c.g_design on social media, who tries to help the Chevy fanbase dream about what comes next for the Camaro if the continuity wasn't broken. If that hypothesis was a fact, maybe the US automaker could perform a deep facelift and call it a new generation, just like Toyota did with the 2025 Camry mid-size sedan, for example.

The pixel master envisions the unofficial seventh-generation Chevy Camaro in SS form with a host of enhancements, including new front LED headlights, a massive front air intake embedded in the bumper, aero mirror caps, reworked LED taillights, and a raft of 'tuning' elements dressed in black. The aerodynamic addons are all pretty obvious, including the black roof and the composite wing at the back, while the louvered rear window is a nice touch of vintage design. Additionally, there are also new alloy wheels and a massive black hood bulge.

Naturally, since the sixth generation Camaro SS was produced with the LT1 6.2-liter V8 engine hooked to a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission and was capable of 455 horsepower, the best kind of upgrade for the hypothetical seventh generation would be to switch to C8 Corvette Stingray's 490-495-hp LT2 naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 – it already performs marvelously inside the more expensive sports car. So, what do you think about this seventh-gen Camaro project – is it a yay or a nay?
