The long-awaited next-generation Acura NSX will be showcased as a prototype at Mid-Ohio Raceway early next month, the California-based automaker revealed today, publishing the first image of the car.
The prototype will lap the Mid-Ohio course before the Honda Indy 200 IndyCar Series race, wearing a blue paint job and custom graphics. As seen in the photo posted above, the prototype looks similar to the NSX Concept that was introduced at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. However, the vehicle will arrive in Mid-Ohio with the production V6 hybrid powertrain.

The next-generation NSX is being developed at Honda R&D American in Raymond, Ohio, with global launch scheduled sometime in 2015.

The Acura NSX prototype display and the Honda Indy 200 IndyCar race will take place on August 4. Make sure you stick around for more photos of the hybrid supercar.
