When it comes to tiny living, enjoying the benefits of a compact, transportable frame without having to sacrifice the functionality of a traditional kitchen is perfectly possible. Cleverly designed homes like the Mobi 02 Heather find ingenious ways of packing functional features even when the available floor space makes it challenging.
If you happen to spot a vividly-colored, Scandinavian-style house on wheels made in Europe, chances are it's a Mobi House creation. This popular brand has turned colorful, eye-catching exteriors into a trademark. At the same time, this is one of the few companies in this industry that doesn't just use Scandinavian minimalism as a source of inspiration but is actually closely tied to it.

The company's young founder, Bartek, lived and worked in Norway for many years prior to starting his own tiny house business. At the time, tiny living was still in its infancy, not just in Bartek's home country, Poland, but all throughout Europe. Mobi House became one of the pioneers in this field and continued to grow over the years. Today, this is an established, well-known tiny house company with a signature style. Most of the raw materials for the houses are still mainly imported from Scandinavia. This way, the Mobi House creations embody the principles of Scandinavian sustainability beyond aesthetics.

The Mobi 02 Heather looks like a lucky charm on wheels: easy to spot and difficult to forget. While its flamboyant exterior might seem a bit intimidating for a cabin in the woods, Heather's interior is as calming and neutral as you'd expect from a classic Scandi home. Gorgeous woodwork in natural shades is something to be expected from any Mobi House model. The windows aren't too big but strategically placed to maximize luminosity in every part of the house.

The Heather Tiny is perfectly minimalist, with no unnecessary clutter getting in the way of pure, basic functionality. This is mainly how it manages to look and feel much more spacious than its modest six-meter (19.6 feet) length. A one-bedroom home, the Heather can accommodate up to four people thanks to a big, convertible sofa in the living room. This multi-functional sofa is designed to provide generous integrated storage and is one of the custom-made amenities found in most Mobi tiny homes.

Traditional furniture was mostly ditched in favor of modular, versatile, multi-functional alternatives that could help save precious floor space. The living room sofa became a three-in-one element, occupying very little space. In the kitchen, there are no classic tables and chairs. If you look carefully, you'll spot a decent-sized folding table near the main entry and a couple of chairs up above, stored on the ceiling.

When these items are stored away, Heather's kitchen looks like a simple, galley-style cooking area without any room for a dining corner. With just a couple of moves, things can change as if by magic – the folding table and the folding chairs create a temporary breakfast area that's perfect for two people. In other words, Heather reveals a two-in-one kitchen that doubles as a dining area without needing any extra space.

This particular setup keeps the floor free most of the time, which prevents this compact tiny home from becoming crowded and cluttered. Storing chairs on the ceiling sounds unusual at first, but it works. At the same time, this tiny kitchen is big when it comes to storage, including overhead cupboards. The staircase facing the countertop provides even more storage in the form of various-sized cabinets. An induction cooktop, a fridge, and a hood range are the main appliances in this small but ingenious kitchen.

Style-wise, the all-white cabinetry complements the natural woodwork throughout and is highlighted by the dark red bathroom door designed to double as a decorative element. Behind this door, you'll find a tiny bathroom fitted with all the basics, including an eco-friendly composting toilet instead of a conventional version.

Some folks dread having to go up and down uncomfortable ladders in tiny homes where the bedroom is located in the loft area, but the Heather makes things easier. It boasts a sturdy staircase with beautiful handrails on both sides for maximum support.

The bedroom itself aims to recreate the comfort of a traditional version through elements such as a full-height protection wall, a beautiful open-work handrail, carpeted flooring, large windows, and essential storage. The natural wood ceiling and walls create a calming ambiance that's perfect for rest and relaxation. In terms of functionality, another multi-purpose item is effortlessly integrated into this small area – it's the safety wall that doubles as a spacious bookcase on the interior side of the room.

Despite its compact frame, this lovely tiny house under 20 feet was designed and equipped for year-round accommodation. Even the smartest design would be useless without the necessary equipment for modern-standard comfort. In Heather's case, underfloor heating and electric heaters do a good job of maintaining a cozy atmosphere in any weather. The Mobi 02 Heather is one of those dwellings that instantly feel like home while offering all the benefits of full mobility.
