While the 992 generation of the Porsche 911 is already among us, the German carmaker has only introduced the Carrera S and Carrera 4S this year. However, the first half of next year will bring us the bases Carrera(4), along with the Cabriolet incarnations of these derivatives.
The open-top prototypes are currently in the final development stage. And, as you can see in the two spyshots above (pixel tip to Magazin ProDriver CZ for these images), the design has no more secrets.

Forum chat also mentions Porsche introducing a Neunelfer GT3 Cabriolet and there are multiple clues towards this.

It all starts with the yet unreleased 991.2 Porsche 911 Speedster. Unlike in the case of the 997-gen Speedster, the newcomer will be based on the GT3, which basically means we'll get a GT Division animal with a soft top. So that path could be laid for a 911 GT3 Cabriolet, which would appeal to the "masses" (the carmaker will only build 1948 examples of the Speedster, so this is an uber-limited edition).

Then there's the timing - 992 GT3 prototypes have also been spotted testing in production form and it's possible for the track special to make its debut towards the end of next year.

Since we're talking about the GT3, we'll remind you that the news is brilliant. As test cars' soundtrack has indicated, the naturally aspirated engine is here to stay. And we can't wait to see what Zuffenhausen engineers can do for the next-gen N/A flat-six.

Fortunately, the optional manual transmission will continue to be offered, as also indicated by the aural side of the prototypes. Of course, the new 8-speed PDK will be present, with this obviously featuring the GT3-specific tune.

We'll continue to keep an eye our for prototypes and we'll bring you fresh news as soon as we get our hands on it.
