The 2019 Porsche 911 GT3 RS is a dream and not just to Porschephiles. After all, we're talking about a machine animated by a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter motor, which can lap the Nurburgring in well under seven minutes and can be yours for under $200,000. However, the driver of a 3RS experience a nightmare earlier this year, when the car caught fire.
No details of the incident seem to have surfaced online, so we can only rely on the two images below when talking about the unfortunate incident.

One of the images shows that the fire started at the back of the car, where the engine is. But it seems that flammable liquid had also reached the asphalt, at least if we judge by the flames.

And while the timing of the said image suggests that something could've been done for the car, the second photo shatters any hope. And that's because the latter portrays the Neunelfer after this had been entirely consumed by the fire. So yes, the world now has one less 991.2-generation GT3 RS.

The idea spreads beyond the example we have here, but, since there don't seem to be any details of the incident, it's difficult to make any comments. Regardless, we'll remind you that the 991.1 GT3 (the non-RS model) was recalled due to a risk of fire, with the German automotive producer installing new engines on the car. And the 991.2 generation was fitted with a different engine.

Fortunately, we haven't found any other cases of burning 991.2 GT3 RS models, so this might just be an isolated case.

Meanwhile, other 3RS owners are fully enjoying their cars and some of these aficionados don't feel limited by tarmac areas. For instance, here's a driver who decided to drift the 520 horsepower toy into a pile of sand. Speaking of which, we're asking you not to use such social media attention-seeking moves as an example.

New 2019 GT3RS had an issue. What’s that Nelly song?
