Are you not a fan of modern-day muscle cars? Well, make that modern-day so long as you're speaking about Ford's Mustang, as both the Dodge Challenger and the Chevrolet Camaro are kind of old, with the former being much older than the latter. And if the answer to that question is yes, then how about a classic one?
We're talking about a Chevrolet Camaro Z28. Part of the second generation, which was made from 1970 to 1981, it came to life in the final year of assembly. Looking virtually the same as the previous model year, it featured a slightly upgraded engine in the Z28 configuration to meet the (then) new emission regulations.

Z28 cars from that year, using a four-speed manual transmission like the pictured one, featured a 305 cubic-inch engine. The 5.0-liter V8 was good for 165 horsepower (167 ps/123 kW). Automatic versions were ten horses punchier. That's actually less than some hatchbacks have on tap these days, and needless to say, the '81 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 didn't break any speed records back in the day either.

Looking quite good on the outside, this muscle car wears a blue paint finish, has the Z28 graphics on the sides, and rides on BFGoodrich tires with white branding wrapped around the three double-spoke wheels. Although a bit too gray for our taste, the interior is in a more-than-decent shape. Save for a modern-day stereo, it does not seem to have been molested at all. The Z28-branded steering wheel is on deck, and as you can expect from a car that was made more than four decades ago, the cabin is very basic.

Curious about the mileage? That would be 32,603 (52,469 km), as indicated by the odometer at the time of cataloging. Another thing that you may be curious about is the secret mentioned in the title. The truth is that it is not so much of a secret upon inspecting the papers as it has had the same owner for the past 25 years. This justifies the overall condition of the old-timer muscle car inside and out and under the hood.

Garage Kept Motors advertises it here, and they are asking $29,900 for it. That money could otherwise get you a brand-new crossover from the bowtie brand, and if you cough out a bit more, then you could opt for a fresh-off-the-lot Camaro, whose base MSRP is $30,900.

Camaro Z28s from the '81 model year are priced similarly to this one, often a bit more for better-preserved examples and less for those that need a bit of work before hitting the road. So, is this one a good deal? And if so, would you use it as a daily or on weekends?
