Sometimes, life gets in the way of keeping tabs on folks, and you almost forget about them – but then something really nice or unique happens, and you quickly reconnect.
That's how I feel about Solomon Lunger, the pleasant and knowledgeable host of the Ford Era channel on YouTube, and his Internet-based trials and tribulations. When I discovered his great source of Blue Oval things, I was mesmerized by the way he connected with people and found the coolest little Ford gems – especially pickup trucks, which are clearly his 'weakness.'

However, over time, he became increasingly involved with personal projects, buying/selling old-school trucks and other Ford vehicles and traveling the nation in search of aftermarket outlets and Blue Oval-focused events. That, and the fact that his beloved 'What The Truck?' series became a very rare occurrence, made me lose contact with this YouTube shenanigans.

No worries, he recently started mounting a comeback with the episodes revolving around a 1974 Ford Bronco Halfcab from around a month ago and the supercharged Coyote V8-swapped 1978 Ford F-350 dually from around a couple of weeks after that. Now, though, his 'resurgence' is pretty much complete with something that can easily be seen as a little summer trilogy – a 1971 Ford F-100 Bumpside that's unlike any other F-Series of its era.

And, thanks to a shop called Farm Truck Racing (they're from Texas, of course), it is not only because the F-100 looks entirely pristine in white, the fact that it has b-locked rear wheels (!!), or that it's lowered on coilovers and uses more 21st technology than my car and the neighbors' while still looking completely old-school! Oh, no, those are just the 'usual' suspects with these great customization and personalization projects.

Instead, the absolute craziness of this slammed Ford F-100 is that you can easily take it out for a spin in town like your average daily driver because it's smooth as silk… and the next moment, you can just unleash the wrath of an 807-hp SRT Hellcat Redeye crate engine on whomever got you upset at the red light! Oh, and there's another detail that will make you think both the vehicle and owner are pretty darn bonkers – the F-100's old-school-looking interior doesn't have any seat belts! Gulp, double gulp, triple gulp!

Even Lunger, who has driven or taken rides in some of the craziest and nastiest Fords ever to burn tires on the streets of Earth, was a bit distressed and was keen on mentioning to his host that he's got three kids waiting for him at home. Yep, and he also almost dropped the hand-held camera when the F-100 decided to go rogue a little bit! By the way, do watch all three episodes embedded below; they're highly entertaining.
