If, for whatever reason, you plan on buying a very expensive pre-owned car but kind of loathe the prospect of having to settle for something some John Doe found interesting enough to spec for the ride, this Ferrari FF might be your way out.
That’s because this is no ordinary Ferrari FF if there ever was such a thing, but one once driven by motorsport icon Chip Ganassi, and presently handled by one of the most pretentious dealers out there, Canepa.
The FF is a 2012 example that was originally priced at $295,000. On top of that, the owner of Chip Ganassi Racing had over $72k of extras added, including a suspension lift system, sport exhaust, AFS system, and yellow brake calipers, just to name a few. Inside, the extra money translates into things like Alcantara and leather all around, in the purest and finest Prancing Horse style, "making for an opulent cocoon for driver and passengers alike."
We’re not told of any other changes made to the powertrain of the car, so expect the stock 6.3-liter V12 to send its 651 hp to the wheels by means of a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, just like in all other FFs.
Ganassi is said to have been the owner of the $370,000 Ferrari for about two years. The FF now shows close to 8,000 miles (12,800 km) on the odometer and is selling from the Canepa lot for a price to be revealed to the buyer. It goes with service records from both Ferrari Westlake and the selling dealer for the needed peace of mind.
The Italian grand tourer was made from 2011 to 2016 as the successor of the 612 Scaglietti, and close to 2,300 of them were ever produced. Historically, the nameplate was the first production Ferrari to use a four-wheel-drive system; hence the name – FF stands for Ferrari Four.
