Alfa Romeo is that premium Italian automaker that everyone admires from a distance because it has beautiful designs and a reportedly disastrous reputation for reliability. However, things are looking better and better each year.
Not long ago, Stellantis seemed in disarray with its many brands and numerous disjointed strategies. Now that they have had some time to clear up the clutter and cut through the bull$h*t, it seems the plans are working out a lot better – with big profits even as sales didn't look so great in the United States last year.
However, despite the 1% slump in one of its most important markets, Stellantis achieved record profit and revenue figures in 2023 thanks to higher pricing and promising advancements made by some of its brands. So, after years of only selling the Giulia sedan and Stelvio CUV, Alfa Rome finally delivered something else to America in the form of the new Tonale compact crossover SUV, which is also its first electrified model.
The novelties won't stop there, though, as the brand is on the verge of introducing the Milano subcompact crossover SUV – its first-ever all-electric model. Built on the STLA Small (e-CMP 2) platform, this is the cousin of models like the Jeep Avenger, Fiat 600, and more – and will also offer ICE-powered variants in the future. Meanwhile, at the top, there is also the limited-series flagship, Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, which also comes in both EV and gasoline versions, though in just 33 units as a tribute to the original from 1967.
Alas, just 33 units sold for an arm and a leg maybe won't do justice to Alfa Romeo's long-standing sporty reputation, right? Well, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators has a solution for that. Cue Giorgi Tedoradze, the Georgia-based industrial designer better known as tedoradze.giorgi on social media, who has a sporty Alfa Romeo in his mid-engine mind: 6C.
Obviously, this is the hypothetical successor of the Alfa Romeo 4C (Type 960) mid-engine sports car sold between 2013 and 2020. However, it's larger now, and it's probably something that could be used to threaten the American livelihood of the mighty C8 Chevrolet Corvette. Fitted with the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine from the Giulia Quadrifoglio and rocking up to 533 horsepower like the GTA and GTAm versions, this could prove a great challenger for the C8 Chevy Corvette Stingray.
Sadly, this is merely a figment of imagination, and we are pretty sure that Alfa Romeo doesn't intend to bring out a successor to the slow-selling 4C. Besides, if they did, the 6C would probably cost double the $68,300 MSRP of the 2024 Corvette Stingray, making it more of a contender for something like the Lotus Emira V6 ($94k) than anything else.
