The newly-unveiled Mercedes-Benz CLE is bound to get a couple of AMG versions in the 53 and 63 flavors. Both are rumored to premiere next year, and by the time they get their US visas (there's no reason to suspect they won't launch in our market), they should be 2025 models.
For now, the sportier styling of the two range-topping versions of the series remains secret, but unofficially, the most potent one, the Mercedes-AMG CLE 63, which may or may not add the S E Performance suffix to its name, sits naked on the World Wide Web under the rendering spotlight.

Starting with the regular Mercedes-Benz CLE Coupe, kelsonik, aka the digital artist behind these CGIs, has rearranged its front and rear ends to make it look like an AMG CLE 63. Does that styling seem familiar? That's because it was inspired by the latest C 63 S E Performance.

From the Panamericana grille to the sporty bumper with a pair of large intakes below the headlamps and a big central one, the side trim, rear bumper with similar vents, diffuser, quad exhaust tips, and spoiler on the trunk lid, everything came from the four-door model that takes on the likes of the BMW M3 Sedan. The wheels are also shared with it, and for the exterior color, the pixel manipulator went for a red hue, contrasted by a few black accents.

Since the scooped prototypes had a lot of camouflage, it's almost impossible to make out their styling, but to some extent, the model should look similar to this rendered copy. Look for a retuned chassis with stiffer suspension for improved cornering, beefier brakes to handle the extra power that we will talk about in a moment, a pair of bucket seats for the driver and front passenger, exclusive upholstery and trim, and several other things that will draw a clear line between it and the Benz derivatives.

Now, about that power, the most plausible scenario speaks about an electrified 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. In the C 63 S E Performance, this assembly develops a combined 670 hp (680 ps/500 kW) and 752 lb-ft (1,020 Nm) of torque. The straight-line performance should be similar, with the super sedan taking 3.4 seconds to hit 62 mph (100 kph) from a standstill and maxing out at 174 mph or 280 kph. Others believe that instead of this powertrain, the CLE 63 could get the same electrified 3.0-liter six-pot as the E 63.

Whatever lump it packs, make no mistake, the CLE 63 will be one punchy and very fast vehicle that will gun for the likes of the Audi RS 5 and BMW M4 in two body styles: coupe and convertible once it goes on sale, presumably sometime next year.
