Back in 2022, Honda was among the freshest Japanese automakers on the North American market with the all-new HR-V, the latest CR-V crossover SUV, plus the mid-size Pilot and eleventh-generation Accord, as well as the feisty Civic Type R.
This year, though, they are not just as competitive. That is simply because 2023 lacks the same roster of high-profile novelties – surely the 2024 Ridgeline with new TrailSport trim or an announcement that the electric Prologue is finally coming are not as worthy of the automotive red carpet's spotlight if you want to know our two cents on the matter.

Thus, a few people won't take that for granted. Instead, they may want to take matters into their own hands and do something about it – even if only virtually. More precisely, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators is coming up with a solution to the predicament - Dimas Ramadhan, the virtual automotive artist behind the Digimods DESIGN channel on YouTube, has recently taken up the task of CGI-revealing a feisty, refreshed Accord.

Even better, this is not just a regular Accord or an Accord Hybrid. Instead, we are dealing with the rebirth of the beloved Accord Type R – the model was produced in very low units from 1998 to 2002 and sold in Europe or at home in Japan sporting the Accord Euro R moniker. Now, though, it indeed looks like it could gain more widespread attention and perhaps even an international career spanning North America and Japan, at the very least.

Interestingly, the pixel master also worked out a subtle refresh for the 2025 model year to go alongside the decidedly subtle Type R changes that impact the bumpers, side skirts, and all-black wheels, of course. If you ask us, a launch for the 2025 model year with the 2.0-liter turbo from the Civic Type R instead of the regular 192-hp turbo 1.5-liter would be perfect – that's the moment when all eyes will be on the newly hybrid-exclusive 2025 Toyota Camry.

As such, Honda would clearly have a significant alternative to the all-new mid-size sedan that doesn't look like a desperate measure to draw attention from the 2025 Camry. However, since this is merely wishful thinking and the Japanese carmaker hasn't announced any potential revivals other than the return of the hybridized Prelude coupe, do take all these renderings with a healthy dose of salt.

As for this pixel master, he is quite passionate about Japanese affairs, so other virtual design projects that were recently presented on his channel also involve the next-generation Mitsubishi Lancer, Mazda3, Honda City Type R, as well as the nasty Honda Pilot Type R or Toyota GR Sienna! So, which one is your favorite – this new take on the hypothetical Accord Type R or one of the others?
