Skoda is among the companies that have vowed to keep the mid-size car alive for as long as possible, so they are currently prepping a new generation Superb. That's right, the pictured one is actually the fourth generation, despite looking like a mid-cycle refresh of the outgoing one.
Set to replace the third generation, which is eight years old, the 2024 Skoda Superb was caught naked in the station wagon body style. Thus, we can see the evolutionary styling and graphics of the headlights and the grille that is wider and shorter. The new bumper still has incorporated DRLs with similar styling, though you can rest assured that everything is new.

Besides the estate, Skoda's all-new Superb was also caught in the sedan guise or, better said, liftback, as this model has a tailgate opening up into a generous cargo area that will allow it to haul more voluminous gear than a traditional four-door of similar size. The liftback was spied testing at the Nurburgring with its entire body wrapped in camouflage. Still, we can see that the design is also evolutionary when it comes to this model, which should have an almost-identical face to its more practical sibling mentioned above.

Sporting a larger footprint, the 2024 Superb will have a more spacious cabin and improved cargo area. The 12.9-inch infotainment system will be combined with the digital dials and the (likely optional) head-up display. The gear lever was moved to the steering column, and this makes the center console look cleaner. Future buyers of the Czech brand's mid-size car should also look forward to improved active and passive safety, as this vehicle will likely get the maximum 5-star safety rating when it gets put to the test by Euro NCAP.

Based on an improved variant of the MQB platform, in turn, shared with the next-gen Passat that will only be offered as a station wagon, the 2024 Superb will be offered with a plethora of powertrain options. Skoda has confirmed multiple units, including the 1.5-liter mild-hybrid, 1.5-liter plug-in hybrid, and two 2.0-liter TSI gasoline lumps. It will still be offered with diesel power, with the 2.0-liter TDI in two outputs. The most humble variant will launch with 150 ps (148 hp/110 kW) in mid-hybrid and diesel forms, and the range-topper will get the 265 ps (261 hp/195 kW) 2.0 TSI gasoline engine.

Skoda will make the next-gen Superb next to the 2024 VW Passat Variant at the Bratislava facility in Slovakia. Production is expected to kick off shortly after the grand unveiling, which was scheduled for November. So, if you had the power to take this decision, would you bring the redesigned Super to the United States? And if so, would you be ready to kick that crossover out of bed for it?
