Skoda continues building up the hype for the 2024 Octavia, and after last week's teaser video that put the spotlight on the actual car in pre-production form, the latest sketches show an overenthusiastic take on it that has little in common with the real deal, which will be almost identical to the current one, save for a few novelties inside and out.
The official digital illustrations portray the 2024 Octavia as a sporty model with an aggressive shape and a sloping roofline, sitting on large wheels. However, we already know that it won't look like this, as the Czech automaker only gave it refreshed front and rear fascias and a few other bits and bobs, as this is, after all, a mid-cycle refresh of the car and not a new generation.
Even in the press release that accompanies these overenthusiastic renderings, Skoda speaks of the redesigned bumpers at both ends. They also mention the sharper headlamps and a new interpretation of the grille. Previous scoops have also revealed that it has a new infotainment system and fresh digital instrument gauges. Reports also speak of a few tweaks performed to the steering wheel and center console, though we have yet to lay eyes on them.

The 2024 Skoda Octavia is expected to launch with most of its predecessor's engine family. These comprise the 1.0L three-cylinder and 2.0L four-cylinder units. Mild hybrids will be part of the offering, and it should launch with at least a couple of plug-in hybrids. Europeans are still fans of diesel engines, so the VW Group-owned auto marque is said to give it at least one such mill alongside one fed by compressed natural gas (CNG).
Besides briefly mentioning the visual updates on the outside, Skoda has also confirmed what we already knew: that the facelifted Octavia range will still include the RS (vRS in the United Kingdom) sporty flavor. Look for a retuned chassis and uprated brakes when it comes to this top-of-the-line version, as well as larger bumpers, dedicated wheels, and a few other goodies, besides the additional punch coming from under the hood and delivered to the wheels at a hard push of the throttle.
It is possible that the facelifted 2024 Skoda Octavia will only launch as a hatchback and station wagon, which means that the jacked-up Scout will no longer be part of the offering. We will find out more about it when the time comes, and judging by the latest teasers, we'd say the Czech car marque will lift the curtain for it in a few days or maybe a few weeks. The order books should open right after the (online) premiere, and deliveries of the car will probably commence around summer.
