With the assembly commencing in 2019, the fourth-gen Skoda Octavia is already four years old. But the Czech automaker plans to keep it around for a few more years, so they are readying its mid-cycle refresh.
Spied several times already, the 2024 Skoda Octavia was recently caught on camera partially showing its updated front and rear ends and a few tweaks made inside. The mid-size Superb's smaller sibling was caught in the Combi body style, aka the station wagon, but it will be joined by the sedan or, better said, the liftback.

Its front and rear fascias were still under wraps, though we can still see the new headlights and a fresh interpretation of the grille. Featuring vertical vents towards the side and a large air intake in the middle, the bumper is also new. Out back, it has new taillights and a different bumper with what appear to be repositioned reflectors, assuming these are they're not provisional. Don't mind the sensors on the wheels, as they are there for data-gathering purposes. And speaking of the alloys, it will likely launch with new ones.

Just like the exterior, the cockpit of the facelifted Skoda Octavia was partially under wraps. Nonetheless, the infotainment system was left exposed, and we can see that it has a new screen. The digital instrument cluster probably welcomed a few tweaks of its own, and even though it's not entirely visible, we think the steering wheel will be slightly different. That said, everything else is understood to carry over, though we wouldn't be surprised if they placed extra attention on the safety gear, enhancing some elements.

Some internal combustion engines could be optimized for the mid-cycle refresh of the Czech marque's model that shares many nuts and bolts with the VW Golf, Audi A3, and SEAT Leon. The 1.0-liter three-pot could be upgraded, like on the Kamiq crossover, and it will probably churn out 114 hp (116 ps/85 kW). The 1.5-liter TSI should produce 148 hp (150 ps/110 kW), and Skoda won't ditch the larger displacement units with 2.0 liters either. Look for mild-hybrid assemblies as well, and compressed natural gas lumps. Moreover, we think the diesel power isn't going anywhere for now. The family will still be topped by the RS (vRS in the United Kingdom), and there have been reports that the Scout, aka the jacked-up variant, might bite the dust.

We will find out everything about the 2024 Skoda Octavia when the company lifts the veils. Reports speak about an official unveiling taking place in the next few months, and it might premiere close to the end of the year. The first units will probably start arriving at dealers in Europe early next year. On a final note, we've got to mention the battery-electric version of the Octavia, which is believed to launch in a few years.
