After last month's unveiling, the new MG3 Hybrid+ has now gone on sale in the United Kingdom, with the car manufacturer opening the order book and announcing its specifications for the local market.
The offering comprises two models, the SE and the Trophy, which carry respective starting prices (OTR) of £18,495 (equal to $23,545) and £20,495 ($26,090).

Choosing the base version of the 2024 MG3 Hybrid+ will get buyers halogen projector headlamps with a dusk-sensing sensor, LED DRLs, rear parking sensors, electrically adjustable side mirrors with heating, and 16-inch alloys.

It also comes with key remote central locking, front and rear electric windows, a rear window defogger, a 12-volt socket, and a multi-function steering wheel. The air conditioning, fabric upholstery, vanity mirrors, a 7-inch driver display, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, sat-nav, Apple Carplay, Android Auto, and others are also standard.

In the safety department, the SE version of the car brings active emergency braking with cyclist and pedestrian detection, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, traffic jam assist, intelligent speed limit assist, driver attention alert, forward collision warning, electric parking brake with auto-hold, hill start assist, and the same number of airbags as the superior grade.

Opting for the MG3 Hybrid+ Trophy will get you more safety systems, including the added blind zone detection with lane change assist and rear cross-traffic alert. This model features LED projector headlamps, rear privacy windows, rain-sensing wipers, keyless entry, leather-style upholstery with cloth inserts, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a 360-degree camera system.

Powering both variants of the supermini is a 1.5-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder gasoline engine, which produces 101 hp (102 ps/75 kW) and 94 lb-ft (128 Nm) of torque. An electric motor backs up the ICE, generating 134 hp (136 ps/100 kW) and 184 lb-ft (250 Nm). The total system output is 192 hp (194 ps/143 kW). The car features a three-speed automatic transmission, a 1.83 kWh battery pack, and is front-wheel drive.

According to the auto marque, the MG3 Hybrid+ needs eight seconds flat to reach 62 mph (100 kph) from a standstill and can push up to 106 mph (170 kph). The fuel economy and carbon dioxide emissions have yet to be officially rated, but MG states they stand at 4.4 l/100 km (53.5 mpg US/64.2 mpg UK) and 100 g/km, respectively.

MG's new MG3 Hybrid+ measures 4,113 mm (161.9 in) from bumper to bumper. It is 1,502 mm (59.1 in) tall and 1,797 mm (70.7 in) wide and has a 2,570 mm (101.2 in) long wheelbase, making it about as big as a VW Polo. It has a curb weight of 1,298 kg (2,862 lbs) on the entry-level SE, can seat five, and has a trunk capacity of 293 liters (10.3 cu-ft).
