Lexus has brought the third-gen IS into the 2024 model year, and even though it has stayed the same, it brings some added gizmos to justify the slightly higher price tags across the range.
Kicking off the 2024 Lexus IS range is the 300, with its 2.0L four-pot making 241 hp (244 ps/180 kW) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque with RWD. The AWD model uses a 3.5L V6 rated at 260 hp (264 ps/194 kW) and 236 lb-ft (320 Nm). Pricing starts at $41,235 and $43,235, respectively, including the $1,150 destination charge.
This makes it $650 more expensive than the 2023 model. Customers can also order the F Sport Design trim level, which starts at $43,055 with RWD and $45,095 with AWD. It adds 19-inch F-Sport alloys, some unique elements on the outside, and dedicated badging. The IS F Sport brings the same goodies, yet it adds a heated steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, and aluminum pedals in return for $44,305 for the RWD and $46,345 for the AWD model.
Next come the 2024 Lexus IS 350 versions, with rear- and all-wheel drive, packing a 3.5-liter V6 that develops 311 hp (315 ps/232 kW) and 280 lb-ft (380 Nm). A Blackout Package was added to the F Sport grade, bringing matt black 19-inch wheels made by BBS, black mirror caps with dark chrome trim, dark chrome window trim, and the Memory Package that controls the side mirrors, steering wheel, and driver's seat.
The 2024 IS 350 F Sport Design kicks off at $44,410 and $46,410 with rear- and all-wheel drive, respectively, and it is also offered in the 350 F Sport from $45,660 and $47,660. Topping the family is the 2024 IS 500 F Sport and F Sport Premium, priced from $60,020 and $64,520, respectively.
Powering the 500 models is a 5.0-liter V8 making 472 hp (479 ps/319 kW) and 395 lb-ft (536 Nm) of torque. Novelties include the black side mirror caps with chrome trim, an optional Incognito exterior paint finish, and the Special Appearance Package returning to the Performance Premium. The bundle adds 19-inch wheels in matte black made by BBS, a Blue Vector exterior look, blue stitching on the inside, and a smart access key card. This model will be limited to 150 copies in North America, with sales commencing this fall.
All versions of the 2024 Lexus IS feature the brand's Safety System+ 2.5, bringing a host of safety systems, such as the front collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, and lane departure warning with steering assist. Additional functions include dynamic radar cruise control, road sign assist, intelligent high beams, emergency steering assist, and others. The Japanese automaker expects the 2024 IS to launch later this fall.
