Americans currently enjoy a limited selection of all-electric pickup trucks. The Ford F-150 Lightning, the GMC Hummer EV Pickup, and the Rivian R1T are the only ones currently on sale. The middle option shouldn't be included because it's rarer than a tanzanite gemstone. But GM is getting ready to bring the Chevrolet Silverado EV to dealers, and Canada is helping us with the official information regarding the 3WT's range. Sadly, it does not mirror what the 4WT is expected to deliver.
Chevy could soon add another model to America's list of all-electric pickup trucks. It promised that the very well-equipped Silverado EV RST would become available in fall 2023. Still, don't get your hopes up.

Updated information about the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV is scarce. But we should give General Motors some space to breathe. It's dealing with a lot of issues right now. Its unionized workers are striking and are threatening to amplify their movement if the automotive giant does not improve its counteroffer.

At the same time, manufacturing the Ultium energy storage units got challenging in August, and it looks like there are no signs of relief.

But if you want to be among the first to drive a Silverado EV, make sure you can order more than one or get ready to splurge on a costly RST trim. The latter should be introduced for retail buyers by the end of November, while the cheaper WT targets commercial customers first. The WT will become available for those not looking to replace a fleet of pickup trucks in 2024.

Chevrolet said that the Silverado EV 4WT would go 450 miles on a single charge, more than any other battery-electric pickup truck currently on sale. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) confirmed it. But by the looks of it, that might be an exclusive perk reserved for the highest WT version.

Natural Resources Canada published relevant information about the Chevy's energy consumption, revealing that it gets 393 miles (632 kilometers) on a full battery. That's 57 miles less than the 4WT.
The 3WT has a combined efficiency of 50.5 kWh/100 mi (31.4 kWh/100 km) or 1.98 mi/kWh.

The same source categorized the all-electric Chevy as a "standard" pickup truck, meaning the Silverado EV 3WT could weigh between 6,000 and 8,500 lb.

Given that the Ford F-150 Lightning with the Extended Range battery has an EPA-rated range of 320 miles, the GMC Hummer EV Pickup goes 314 miles on a single charge, and Rivian's dual-motor R1T with the Large Pack energy storage unit travels 352 miles on a full battery, the upcoming Chevrolet Silverado EV 3WT would still be above its rivals.

However, Rivian confirmed that it would start delivering 180-kWh Max Pack-equipped R1Ts to customers, and that version of the Normal-made pickup truck enjoys an EPA-estimated range of 410 miles.

Thus, Chevy should really bring out the 4WT (or any version of the Silverado EV) sooner rather than later.

Last year, a leak revealed that the Silverado EV 3WT could have a starting cost of $72,905, while the 4WT would've added $5,000 on top of the 3WT's price. Both didn't include the freight fee of $1,895.

The bowtie brand confirmed that the leak revealed the correct figures. The official MSRPs (including destination charges) are - $74,800 for the Silverado EV 3WT, $79,800 for the Silverado EV 4WT, and $106,895 for the Silverado RST.

Finally, another important detail Natural Resources Canada uncovered is the power output – 381 kW or 511 hp.
