I think it’s safe to say that the days of paying way over MSRP for a used 2023 Corvette Z06 are over. Even if we’re talking about “barely used” cars with delivery miles or maybe just a couple of hundred miles on the clock. The market has spoken and I for one love what I’m hearing.
I’m not a fan of what’s been going on with the Z06. I don’t appreciate how expensive it is, regardless of how much performance it’s gained in C8 form. Back in 2015, the previous-generation Z06 came with a starting MSRP of $78,995, which in my book was great value-for-money. This new Z06 on the other hand, is priced from $112,700, and for some reason, a lot of people managed to flip them for a profit after purchase.

By “some reason”, I mean this irrational rush to own a new product before most other people. Overspending on a Corvette Z06 is like overspending on a new iPhone – neither of them are limited production items.

Anyway, what we have here is a 2023 Corvette Z06 in Coupe 2LZ Z07 form, and before we dive into the spec, allow me to just rant a little bit longer about another pet peeve of mine, specifically the difference between a Z06 Coupe and a Z06 Convertible.

Newsflash, they’re both convertibles! You can convert the Stingray or Z06 Coupe into a convertible by storing the removable targa roof panel in the cargo area. Why would you pay more money just so you can get the same thing? Granted, the electronically powered hard top can be raised or lowered in 16 seconds in the Convertible variant, but how often do you even do that on a daily basis?

Meanwhile, the Convertible is heavier than the Coupe (obviously), and you can’t even see the engine in the former. Rant over.

This particular Z06 Coupe failed to sell at auction recently, with the owner refusing to let go of the car for just $140,000 – this had an MSRP of $153,550 when new.

Exterior features include the Torch Red colorway, the Carbon Aero Package (carbon high wing, front dive planes, ground effects), LED headlights, side air intakes, rear parking sensors, plus a set of 20” and 21” carbon fiber wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires and Brembo brakes. This Vette also features a front-axle lift system and a Z07 suspension.

Inside, you’ll find goodies such as the heated, ventilated and power-adjustable GT1 bucket seats in Jet Black leather, a Bose sound system, dual-zone automatic climate control, a head-up display, leather-wrapped steering wheel, plus loads more.

As for performance, the engine is a 5.5-liter LT6 V8 with a red-finished intake and just 197 miles on the clock. Output is rated at 670 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, with everything going to the rear wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
