2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 Convertible 3LZ Z07 Fails To Sell, Owner Flat Out Refuses $171,000

I think that’s kind of the main issue as far as the Z06 Vette is concerned. The 2024 Z06 is priced from $112,700, and if you think that’s reasonable, just think back to the previous-generation Z06, which in 2015 had a starting MSRP of $78,995. Now that was great value-for-money, whereas the 2024 car... not so much.

It’s still awesome, don’t get me wrong. But you’ll never be able to make a case in favor of its price/performance ratio, especially in today’s day and age when reasonably priced family EVs can rocket to 60 mph as quickly as a supercar. Just a few years ago you could have told your friends something like “hey dude, my Vette’s as quick as a Ferrari at a quarter of the price.”

Anyway, let’s focus up and talk about this particular 2023 Corvette Z06 Convertible in Accelerate Yellow Metallic, because it was recently up for grabs at auction and, gulp, it didn’t sell. More specifically, the reserve wasn’t met, with the highest bid maxing out at $171,000. Guess how much the car cost to begin with - $172,800.

Just a few months ago, these were selling at way over MSRP. We even showed you a gorgeous Red Mist Metallic Z06 that went for $192,000 at auction – a full $25k over MSRP.

Of course, with the market having adjusted over these past few weeks alone, the fact that someone wouldn’t pay over MSRP for this top spec Z06 should come as little to no surprise. Sellers are in for a rude wake-up call, and at this point, they might as well just “sit” on the cars (or actually drive them, unless the whole point was to flip them for profit).

More on this car: aside from the yellow exterior, it also comes with a Carbon Flash-painted rear wing, dive planes and ground effects, plus a set of similarly painted 20” and 21” carbon fiber wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires and yellow-finished Brembo brakes.

Meanwhile, interior highlights include the heated, ventilated, and power-adjustable Competition Sport bucket seats (with Jet Black upholstery), the Stealth Interior package, a head-up display, Bose sound system, dual-zone climate control, a heated carbon-fiber and microsuede-trimmed steering wheel, and plenty more.

As for the power unit, it’s a 5.5-liter LT6 flat-plane V8, sending 670 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels via a Tremec TR-9080 eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. When equipped with the Z07 package (as this car is), the Z06 Corvette can cover a quarter mile in just 10.6 seconds, which is properly quick.
