It’s so great that we now live in a world where buying a brand-new flagship-spec Corvette means not having to feel all that inferior in the face of any comparable Italian or British exotics. The Z06 C8 is clearly the type of supercar that can level just about any playing field.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. The C8 Z06 is what the C8 Stingray should have been all along. I don’t mean the performance (GM is right to stagger the specs the way they did), but the design. Fine, you want to save the front splitter for the Z06? Sure. The rear spoiler? That too. But the overall design of the bodywork should have been this way from the get-go.

The Z06 comes with a factory-standard widebody kit, which means it looks more muscular and planted than the standard C8 Corvette. It’s 3.6 inches wider, to be exact, and it’s noticeable from pretty much all angles – mainly because the standard C8 tends to look too narrow, at least in my eyes. Come on, don’t pretend you love it.

Anyway, we found a nice and stealthy Z06, getting auctioned off with 48 miles on its 5.5-liter LT6 V8. This car is all-black, and features LED headlights, heated and power-folding mirrors, stealth badging, a rear spoiler, electronic trunk closer, composite front splitter and rocker panels, plus black Spider design 20” and 21” alloy wheels (front & rear) with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rubber.

Additionally, it also comes with Magnetic Selective Ride Control, to go with a front axle lift system and red-painted Brembo brakes fitted over ventilated discs. It’s a serious piece of kit.

Meanwhile, interior highlights include the half Adrenaline Red leather GT2 bucket seats (also heated and ventilated), color-coordinated contrast stitching, a 14-speaker Bose sound system, a rear camera mirror, remote start, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, head-up display, rear park assist, rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel with a red center marker, and an 8” touchscreen for the infotainment system which offers wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.

As for that previously mentioned 5.5-liter LT6 V8 engine, it produces 670 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, with everything going to the rear wheels via a Tremec TR-9080 eight-speed automatic transmission.

Floor the throttle in this thing and you’ll be doing 60 mph in just 2.6 seconds, which is properly quick.

This Z06 had a sticker price of $129,990, and if you hurry up, you might be able to get it for less than that – probably because there’s a warranty issue to straighten out. As far as the 2024 Z06 is concerned, GM renders the vehicle warranty null and void for cars that are resold within six months of their original purchase date.
