2023 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing Watkins Glen IMSA Edition Is a 472 HP Electric Blue Tribute

Walk into a Cadillac dealership today and you’ll likely be able to drive off in a CT4-V Blackwing for around $65,000. While that may sound like a lot of money, it’s somewhat of a bargain compared to say, a BMW M3, which is priced from $76,000. To be fair, you’d probably want the M3 in this scenario, but keep in mind, we’re discussing MSRP.

That being said, if you’d like a great deal on a flagship spec CT4-V, just look for a barely used one, because you'll be looking at tremendous savings in the process. Take this 2023 Watkins Glen IMSA Edition model we just found online. It’s basically still brand new, having done just 744 miles – and with two days left to go in the bidding process, the highest number currently in play is $45,000. That’s like giving it away!

Here’s the scoop about this car. It’s meant to pay tribute to successful Cadillac race cars on the IMSA circuit, and while it may not feature any performance upgrades over the “regular” CT4-V Blackwing, the fact that less than 100 of these were ever made is highly appealing.

In terms of performance, the CT4-V Blackwing is powered by a twin turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 engine, putting down 472 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque. Everything is sent to the rear wheels via either a six-speed manual or an optional 10-speed automatic. This IMSA edition model features the latter.

Anyway, you need only 3.9 seconds to hit 60 mph, making the Blackwing considerably more appealing than the “regular” CT4-V. The top speed meanwhile is 189 mph (304 kph).

Now, this Watkins Glen IMSA Edition example looks properly speedy, thanks to the Electric Blue paint, exterior graphics, and carbon fiber elements (front splitter, canards, rear diffuser, decklid spoiler). It also features special badging, a suede microfiber steering wheel, LED headlights and taillights, mesh grilles, front and rear parking sensors, fender vents, a rearview camera and quad exhausts.

The wheels look great too, thanks to the bronze finish and 18-inch diameter. Naturally, the car is fitted with Cadillac’s performance-tuned suspension with Magnetic Ride Control, and thanks to the Driver Assist Package ($900 option), you also get enhanced automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control.

Other cool features include the head-up display, plus the presence of Lane Change Alert, Lane Keep Assist and Forward Collision Alert – all these are part of the $725 Technology Package.

If this Caddy ends up going for less than $50,000, you’ll be getting a lot of car for that money.
