Back in February, American carmaker Chrysler announced a new variant of its highly successful Pacifica minivan. Responding to what is said to be popular demand, Chrysler unveiled the AWD version of the vehicle, the first such iteration of a minivan in its stables since 2014.
This week, Chrysler said the Pacifica AWD in Launch Edition configuration is already available to order, with pricing starting from $40,240 excluding destination fees.
The Launch Edition is only available for the Touring L model of the family and features several unique styling cues - Black Noise AWD badge, Black Noise Pacifica and Chrysler wing badging, upgraded 18-inch wheels, gloss black elements, and Michelin Premier self-sealing tires.
Inside, the special appointments are leather seats, and an 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen system.
"Reaction was overwhelmingly positive when we announced that the new 2021 Chrysler Pacifica would offer AWD capability,” said in a statement Tim Kuniskis, Global Head of Alfa Romeo and Head of Passenger Cars.
“The Pacifica offers families solutions and with the 2020 Pacifica AWD Launch Edition, we’re delivering the most advanced system in its class, and one that engages without any driver input, to help owners get where they want to go in any type of weather.”
Aside for offering the minivan in AWD configuration, Chrysler hopes more customers will be drawn to the nameplate because of several features no other car in this segment has to offer.
As per the carmaker, the Stow ‘n Go seating configuration is the only one of its kind in its class, and the Pacifica is the only one in the segment capable of transferring all engine torque to the rear wheels or the wheel with the most traction when the need arises.
