Even though the pricing isn’t known at the time of writing this story, GMC started to ship the all-new Sierra Denali to U.S. dealerships. The half-ton pickup truck retails from $52,900 for the 2018 model year, and for what it’s worth, the newcomer should be just as expensive if not more than the current Sierra Denali.

The most distinguished member of the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 family can be equipped with the segment’s largest and most powerful V8 engine option. The 6.2-liter is SAE-certified at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, sent to the wheels by an eight-speed automatic transmission.
But that’s not all. The range-topping engine option debuts Dynamic Fuel Management, an “industry-first cylinder deactivation technology” that operates in no less than 17 patterns depending on demand. And yes, the V8 can even operate on two cylinders when fuel economy is of the essence.
The Sierra Denali features Autotrac as standard, which is another way of saying two-speed transfer case that provides amplified torque at low speeds. The StabiliTrak stability control system, meanwhile, works in conjunction with the traction control to make the best out of every driving scenario.
Highlights of the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali further include exclusive exterior styling, LED headlamps and fog lamps, 20-inch aluminum wheels, integrated dual exhaust with bright polished outlets, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, heated steering wheel, 8.0-inch infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as customizable profiles saved with the driver’s settings in the cloud.
Last, but certainly not least, the Denali can be had with the industry-first Carbon Fiber Pickup Box. As the name implies, this option “offers best-in-class dent, scratch, and corrosion resistance.”
