The Megane RS is held in high regard by the European hot hatch community. An all-new generation was launched earlier this year, and we're frankly not surprised that the tuners had a play.
The first 2018 Megane RS tuning project we've ever seen comes from BR-Performance, which has shops all over Europe and makes fantastic photos.

The French-owned rocket is nothing like the boldly colored examples Renault is using for promotional photos. It an understated shade of metallic dark grey that you can probably spec on a regular diesel model.

That being said, there's no mistaking this for anything other than the Megane RS. Several features give it away, such as the enlarged fenders which stick out further than the doors, the mid-mounted exhaust or the mesh of the front grille which sorts an F1-style diffuser.

The stock car uses its new 1.8-liter turbo engine to produce 280 horsepower and 390 Nm of torque, which can be sent to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual or, in this case, an EDC twin-clutch auto.

Simple engine optimization boosted those numbers to 320 HP and 447 Nm of torque. Bring on the Honda Civic Type R and the Cupra R!

In any case, BR-Performance put together a breathtaking gallery, featuring both urban settings and their dyno. Their cutout Photoshop look makes it seem like you can see through the hood or doors of the car.

Without the bright gold paint drawing your attention away, we kind of feel like the interior is a letdown. Everything looks about the same as in the 205 HP Megane GT, minus the thicker bolsters of the seats. Sure, you've got a tablet display and Alcantara everywhere, but other companies do quality better. And let's not forget that this is a €37,600 car, or as the lenders put it, €516 per month.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
