If you Google "eargasm," you're likely to see a picture of a goat that seems to be enjoying itself too much. However, we think it should be a TT RS there, as its brand-new 2.5-liter TFSI engine sounds spectacular.
Recent rumors said that Audi is considering making an R6 sportscar based on the Cayman to sit below the R8. But from what we gather, the TT RS Coupe is already a good enough "baby R8."
The first box it ticks is that of horsepower: 400 PS, the highest amount ever squeezed from the 5-cylinder engine or installed on the MQB platform. If you like toys, you are going to love the TT RS, as it can be fitted with an active exhaust system that looks like it came from the RS6 and can be opened at the push of a button.
Did we mention it's faster than the Cayman and the Boxster? The coupe version reaches 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds while the roadster is slightly heavier and needs 3.9 seconds.
Everywhere you look, the TT RS has something that the TTS doesn't. At the front, we see larger air intakes and substantial silver inserts. The side reveals racing brakes and besides the cool exhaust system, the taillights at the back have "TT" written in bright red light.
Audi went all "tuning industry" on the interior as well. The show stoppers that were released today had a carbon fiber interior and the big red starter button on the steering wheel from the R8. Some of the leather bits have been changed to Alcantara, and there's a quilted pattern on the seats.
Overall, we have a sneaking suspicion that you will be able to option out these cars to around €80,000, which is an obscenely high price for such a tiny car. Audi has promised it will drive like a real RS, but if the FWD-based quattro system isn't your cup of tea, there's a new Cayman in town as well.
