Audi has already confirmed that the TT RS will make it to the United States in mid-2011, so Americans who hoped to see the Renne Sport parked in their garage can start to raise money just to be sure they will afford one. However, the TT RS makes the headlines once again, this time with an even meaner look and, unfortunately for all of us, in prototype form.
Because yes, the so-called Audi TT RS 2010 VLN model won't be available to customers, but only for the last two rounds of the VLN Endurance Series (Nordschleife). The model was developed by Audi Sport and Raeder Motorsport, but no official details, such as engine power or other type of performance data, have been released.
The TT RS on the other hand will develop 360 horsepower for the American market, even though the European flavor generates "only" 340 horsepower. The debut will take place in mid-2011, with prices and the rest of the specs to be released in the next few months, probably in the first months of 2011.
“By popular demand from thousands of social media fans like you, the 360-hp-five-cylinder high-performance version of the beloved TT coupe will arrive in the U.S. in mid-2011. But its numbers will be extremely limited. If you are seriously interested in becoming one of the lucky few owners of this performance coupe, click the button bellow to provide Audi with your contact information. Did we mention it goes from a standing start to 62 mph in 4.6 seconds?” Audi said on the petition site that convinced it to bring the TT RS Stateside.
