Considering the US-spec 2015 Jeep Wrangler 2DR carries a sticker of $22,795, how, in the name of everything that's holy about the automotive industry, is the UK specification Wrangler 2DR £29,010 OTR? That's a whopping $43,871 converted at today's rates, a sum that is almost twice more than that of the Wrangler's starting price in the United States.
I'm aware that shipping over the pond and adapting to UK-spec both cost a lot of money, but double the price is a bit uncanny if you want an honest opinion. Nevertheless, the entry-level Jeep Wrangler 2DR Sahara offers plenty for the £29,010 sticker. For starters, you get a 2.8-liter CRD turbo diesel that sends 200 HP and 460 Nm (339 lb-ft) to all four wheels via a tough and proven automatic transmission.
Other than the drivetrain and the off-road ready 3.21 rear axle ratio, customers of the least costly Wrangler in Great Britain also get a 3-piece modular hard top, ESC, automatic lights, leather on the steering wheel and gear knob, climate control, 17-inch alloys and a premium Alpine audio system.
From my point of view, those in the market for a Wrangler to call their own are recommend to buy a base model and kit it with sat nav and power windows. After delivery, contact the Kahn Design-owned Chelsea Truck Company and ask about their CJ300 tuning package.
