The world's best-selling vehicle nameplate in 2013 made its appearance at the New York International Auto Show in both sedan and Electric variants. Featuring updated exterior styling themes, the 2015 Focus looks sportier than ever before especially at the front.
Leaner headlights and the protruding hood design improve the overall appearance of the compact vehicle, while the black radiator grille heavily inspired from Aston Martin complements nicely with the trapezoidal fog lights with gloss black surrounds.

As the name suggests, the 2015 Ford Focus sedan differs from the hatchback by offering a bigger capacity boot and a few extra inches in length. The sedan can be fitted with the SE Sport Package, which includes new body treatments, paddle shifters if you opt for the automatic transmission, a revised touring suspension, 17-inch black gloss aluminum wheels and P215/50 HR-17 tires.

The engine range has grown a little, now featuring the tiny 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost unit from the Fiesta hatchback, churning out 123 horsepower and 145 ft-lb (197 Nm) of torque. Only a six-speed stick shift transmission is available with this motor. Driving dynamics have been improved as well with new shock absorber valves, modified rear suspension and recalibrated electric power steering.

Step inside the cabin and you'll find satin chrome detailing, new switches and seat trims and a redesigned steering wheel. A new center console incorporating adjustable cupholders improves storage capacity. All 2015 Focus models benefit from an updated Synch AppLink infotainment system, MyKey and a rearview camera with video feed displayed on either a 4.2-inch screen or the 8-inch screen that comes only on MyFord Touch-equipped cars.

Moving on to the brand new Ford Focus Electric, the visual distinctions between it and the internal combustion engined model are very subtle. The EV comes only in hatchback flavor and features a polished chrome front grille, a more aerodynamic front under spoiler and Electric badges here and there.

The 2015 Focus Electric is powered by a 143 horsepower electric motor that can deliver a theoretical range of 76 miles (122 kilometers). A full charging cycle takes from 2 to 4 hours depending on the power supply used. Top speed is limited to 85 miles per hour (136 km/h) due to the gearbox design.

Ford also announced it will launch a high-performance ST version of the 2015 Focus later this year.
