In Spanish-speaking countries, fiesta is a synonym for celebration or party. In the Blue Oval's jargon, Fiesta is a nameplate that first appeared in 1976. In 2015, the Fiesta is Europe's best-selling small car despite the sixth-generation supermini's venerable age.
Nearing the end of its product lifecycle, the FoMoCo people updated the Fiesta to keep it crisp and relevant in a B-segment that's continually refreshing itself. For the 2015 Ford Fiesta, the American manufacturer prepared a selection of new colors, styling and equipment upgrades, as well as a wider choice of fuel-efficient powerplants.
Equipped with the 1.5-liter TDCi turbo diesel, the 2015 Ford Fiesta ECOnetic model drinks just 3.2 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers (8.2 UK mpg) and emits 82 grams of CO2 per kilometer. The stylish Fiesta Red and Black Edition models can now be had with the 125 horsepower 1-liter EcoBoost while Titanium and Sport models can be equipped with the 140 horsepower version of the acclaimed three-cylinder turbo mill.
On the chromatic front, new colors added to the palette include Silver Silk (satin-like metallic silver-grey), Magnetic (dark, sparkling metallic gray) and Candy Red. Last but not least, we're informed by the Blue Oval that the Fiesta Trend trim level now boasts halogen projector headlamps and LED daytime running lights, joined by a leather-wrapped steering wheel and handbrake.
On the other hand, the Fiesta Titanium's standard equipment list now includes a chrome lower front grille, new 16-inch alloy wheels, and new seat trims with fashionable ecru detailing and matching stitching for the steering wheel, gearshift gaiter, handbrake and floor mats.
“Customers now have the widest ever choice of Fiesta models that offer extensive equipment levels; excellent fuel efficiency and emissions; and eye-catching colours and style,” added Roelant de Waard, vice president of marketing, sales & service for Ford Europe.
