It's widely known that today's drivers, especially the youngsters, are more influenced by in-car gadgets and infotainment systems than ever before. That's why Buick will equip every 2015 model with Apple Siri Eyes Free and Text Message Alerts as standard, while most nameplates will also benefit from OnStar 4G LTE, which acts like a Wi-Fi hotspot for your mobile devices.
“People have become accustomed to having their mobile devices with them wherever they go, and that includes their vehicle,” declared Roger McCormack, the Buick brand's product director. “With standard technologies like Siri Eyes Free and Text Message Alerts, Buick provides drivers with a convenient and safe way to stay in touch while on the road.” A recent survey hints that 39 percent of U.S. consumers buy a new car based on its available in-vehicle technology, so that argument stands true.

Buick IntelliLink comes for the 2015 model year with enhanced connectivity, including a new Text Messaging Alerts feature for users of Bluetooth enabled smartphones, which reads incoming texts through the vehicle’s speakers. Also on the menu there's Siri Eyes Free for the iPhone 4S or newer models, running at least iOS 6. With Siri Eyes Free, customers can ask Siri to call people, play music, compose text messages, get directions and many more. Each enables voice-controlled connectivity, keeping phones safely stored and hands on the steering wheel.

As you can see from the picture above, icons cover everything from satellite navigation to Pandora, but that's not the entire story. Furthermore, the updated IntelliLink is highly customizable and also incorporates natural language voice recognition that allows the driver to safely place calls, enter destinations, browse the MP3 music library and control other functions simply by voice.

In addition to these features, OnStar with 4G LTE is here to bring a built-in Wi-Fi hotspot to the table. This system provides a mobile hub for drivers and passengers to stay connected to the World Wide Web. The hotspot is accessible whenever the vehicle is on or in accessory mode and comes with a 3-month/3-gigabyte data trial, after which the owner can purchase additional data.
