As Acura prepares to launch the 2015 Acura TLX next month, it has announced pricing and estimated fuel economy figures for its all-new midsize sedan. Replacing both the TL and TSX sedans, the 2015 Acura TLX has a price range that almost mirrors these preceding models with a base price that starts at $30,995, which does not include the $895 destination charge.
The base price is for the 2015 TLX 2.4L, which is just $360 more than the 2014 TSX Sedan. This base price includes the 206-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder paired to an eight-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT) as well as equipment such as the unmistakable Jewel Eye LED headlights, Smart Entry with push-button start and a back-up camera. Opting for the available Technology Package increases the MSRP to $35,025 putting it right in between the price of this package on the 2014 TSX and the 2014 TL.

Stepping up to the added power of the 2015 TLX 3.5L, the MSRP will start at $35,220, which is lower than the starting price of both the 2014 TL and V-6-powered 2014 TSX. This front-wheel drive model is equipped with the 290-hp 3.5-liter V-6 mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Like the four-cylinder TLX, the V-6 versions can be equipped with the Technology Package or Advance Package with prices starting at $39,350 and $42,500, respectively.

Finally, there’s the 2015 Acura TLX 3.5L with Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) starting at $41,450 with the Technology Package. Adding on the Advance Package takes the 2015 TLX to its highest MSRP, which is $44,700 for this fully loaded trim level.

Although the EPA has yet to post any official rating on fueleconomy.gov, Acura has released fuel economy figures for all three powertrain configurations. The 2015 TLX 2.4L will be rated at 24 mpg city, 35 mpg highway and 28 mpg in combined driving (up 2 mpg city and 4 mpg highway from a 2014 TSX). These figures are big gains over both the 2014 TSX and 2014 TL. Even opting for the TLX 3.5L FWD, the estimates of 21 mpg city, 34 mpg highway and 25 mpg combined represent improvements of 1 mpg city and 5 mpg highway over the TL. More of the same, the 2015 TLX SH-AWD is rated at 21 mpg city, 31 mpg highway and 25 mpg combined besting the 2014 TL by 3 mpg city and 5 mpg highway.

In addition to the pricing and fuel economy numbers, Acura took the opportunity to announce its new Acura Advantage program for new and existing customers looking to become among the first to buy a TLX. This program, which launches July 7, gives early TLX shoppers unique buying incentives and financing rates. Current Acura lessees can also be given a no-penalty lease extension of up to three months to allow for delivery of their TLX.
