At Ford, “ST” means fast cars, but over at SEAT that only means a boring estate. Still, this brand new Leon ST model which has been leaked thanks to autoforum.cz is pretty cool.
The Spanish carmaker has promised up a design-focused estate model, but the shape of the car is pretty disappointing. But we think this is a problem of perception. You see, Volkswagen group has recently been rendering some of its press photos instead of doing real ones, so this might not be the impression you get in real life. It was the same with the regular Leon III, which looks much more impressive in real life than it does in the photos. We dare you to name another family estate with full-LED headlights!

But perhaps the Leon ST is not a car you buy with your heart anyway. The model has a big boot at 587 liters. It’s smaller than the Golf VII Variant or Octavia Combi, but the differences are insignificant. The SEAT is still more cavernous than rivals from Kia and Hyundai, though Honda’s Civic Tourer coming next year might be challenger.

The engine range will be carried over entirely from the normal Leon, meaning plenty of TSI and TDI engines to choose from, some available with DSG as well. There will also be some models that adopt the 4Motion all-wheel drive systems developed for the Golf.
