Japanese automaker Mazda has confirmed that the all-new 2014 Mazda3 hatchback, which was fully unveiled yesterday, will become available as a sedan as well.
Furthermore, Mazda announced the new compact is scheduled to be launched with a hybrid powertrain, most probably starting next year, on the Japanese market. No word on whether the hybrid will be introduced on the European and American markets or not.
As we already mentioned, the 2014 Mazda3 is available with two engines in the United States, while the rest of the world will get the 2.2-liter diesel as a third choice. However, word has it the Japanese hatchback could receive the oil burner on the North American market as well.
The 2014 Mazda3 hatchback will go on sale in the United States in September, while the rest of the world will be able to place orders shortly after. Pricing, availability and fuel efficiency figures have yet to be revealed, but we’ll be right back as soon as Mazda releases more info.
