Volkswagen has three convertible that are about the same size, while premium automakers like BMW or Mercedes have at least that many drop-top body styles in tens of engine flavors. Korean carmaker Kia has changed its budget brand image, but still hasn't got a car that lets the sun in.
We've really gone Kia-convertible-crazy today, haven't we. After the pro_cee'd GT Cabrio we showed you earlier comes this Forte Cabrio. As you probably know, the Forte sedan is all-new for the 2014 model year and is now available in America with a turbo 1.6 producing 200 hp, the perfect car to match the VW Eos… on a budget.
This rendering by Theophilus Chin has something of the Opel Cascada in its roof, but everything else is pure Kia, the first Kia you'd actually want to pose in.
Editor's note: What should we call this? The Fote Kabrio sounds about right, since the two-door is called the Koup.
