In 2007, Korea carmaker Kia revealed the ex cee'd Cabrio Concept at the Geneva Motor Show. It was based on the previous generation three-door model and never made it into production. Design boss Peter Schreyer was personally involved with the project and probably never forget about the idea of offering a small convertible. After all, Volkswagen has three!
But this official-looking sketch comes not from the automaker. It's a speculative rendering created by Kia-World, an enthusiast website that decided to chop the roof of the pro-cee'd GT.
We've listened to the turbo engine of the GT in the past, and think it'd be a great car to own, provided the price is right of course. Both the three-door pro_cee'd GT and five-door cee'd GT offer the same 1.6-liter turbo engine with 204 PS and 265 Nm (195 lb-ft) of torque.
That might sound like hot hatch material, but the two take about 8 seconds to reach 100 km/h, so this convertible might take 9.
The argument for a convertible Kia need to be made for the regular pro_cee'd or the Forte Koup, not the hotter versions.
