Modern day pursuits involve a complex three-dimensional system, but, sometimes, it still all gets down the good all’ car-to-car chase. Dodge is well aware of this, with its 2014 Charger recently establishing new police car performance records.
The 2014 Dodge Charger Pursuit AWD was taken to the Grattan raceway. The vehicle has posted a time of 1:33.85 in the Michigan police test, as well as a lap of 1:34.75. However, the 2012 Charger Pursuit maintains its title as the fastest police car.
Dodge has paid attention to feedback from the officers driving the previous versions of the Charger Pursuit, upgrading the 2014 model.
For example, the rear ground clearance has been increased and the exhaust updated, so that the vehicle can cross the median. The suspension and the braking hardware have also been upgraded. In addition, there’s a Secure Park system. This makes sure bad guys can’t drive away in a police car, since it doesn’t allow the vehicle to be driven in the absence of its fob.
There’s also a ParkSense rear parking assistance system, a treat that couldn't have arrived too soon.
