Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has announced that the 2014 Chrysler 200 has earned a four-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The sedan received four stars in all front, side impact and rollover crash tests. Despite falling short of obtaining NHTSA’s highest rating, the 200 was named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
The vehicle scored “good” ratings in all IIHS tests and an “acceptable” ranking in the small overlap front crash test.
2014 is the final model year for the current-generation 200, which will be replaced by a redesigned vehicle. The 2015 Chrysler 200 will hit US dealerships this spring.
The brand new sedan, which was unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show last month, has not yet been rated by the NHTSA or the IIHS.
