Chrysler Group has announced it will be recalling about 9,655 units of its brand new 2014 Ram ProMaster full-size vans, which went on sale last November.
The manufacturer says it has to install a new pedal stop to “resolve a condition that may allow the accelerator pedal to stick in the wide-open position if force is applied at an angle” and adds that approximately half of the affected vehicles are still in dealer hands.
Chrysler doesn’t provide a timetable for the recall, but says the new pedal stop will be stop will be installed at no cost to the customers. Concerned drivers may call the company at 1-800-853-1403.
As a brief reminder, the 2014 Ram ProMaster, which is based on the Fiat Ducato van, is priced from $26,530 and can be had in three sizes. The vehicle is available with either a turbo 3.0-liter four-cylinder diesel mill or a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 gasoline engine.
