The US is not getting the RS6 Avant, but perhaps the BMW M5 isn’t quite safe yet. Although no prototypes have yet been spotted, the RS6 sedan could be on the way.
After all, who could possibly resist the urge to buy a sedan that goes from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.9 seconds. And how have they done that, Audi we mean? The old RS6 used to make 580 PS from its bi-turbo V10 engine, and now a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 is used, offering 560 PS. Even though it’s got slightly less power, it’s actually faster than the old RS6. It’s also faster than the equally powerful and less bulky M5. Is Audi pulling a Hyundai on us?
Either way, if you’re curious what the RS6 sedan will look like, these rendering created by Theophilus Chin are pretty accurate. If it does arrive, the new super saloon from Audi will be about 100 km (220 lbs) lifter than the outgoing model and will also bring improvements in fuel economy. The only problem is, Audi might be sticking with the RS7 instead.
